1. Feasibility Studies and Master Plan

As part of the first stage of Front End Engineering Design, Feasibility Studies and Master Plan (FES or FEL-1) are the most critical stage of the projects:

2. Conceptual Design

As part of the second stage of Front End Engineering Design, the Conceptual Design (CD or FEL-2) is the stage that transforms the business case into an engineering project:

  • Set User Requirements High Level
  • Map high level risks
  • Ensure that the applied concept is aligned with the business case
  • Develop the Procurement Strategy
  • Project in BIM (LOD 200)
  • Validate a High Level Timetable

3. Basic Project

As part of the third stage of Front End Engineering Design, the Basic Design (BD or FEL-3) is the stage that defines the scope and execution plan of the project:

  • Project in BIM (LOD 300)
  • Specify equipment
  • Define the procurement plan
  • Develop legal projects

4. The Extended Basic Project (BD +)

The Extended Basic Project (BD +) is the stage that defines the scope, project execution plan, and contracting packages for Design & Built (Project Detail, Construction and Mounting by a single vendor). Highly recommended for Fast Track projects:
